Celebrating 40 years in 2009!
Keepsake Candles celebrates 40 years of lighting up the world! We have been the proud producers of beautiful, handcrafted candles since November 1969. We want to celebrate--and you're invited!
Our story begins when we made a few candles for our local church Christmas bazaar. Since then we've grown and expanded our product lines and have sent Keepsake Candles all over the world! To celebrate we're going to have special events each month where guests can win prizes and have fun. Plus, each month shoppers will find one specially selected item on sale in the store and online! (Hint: Sign up below for the newsletter and get an additional discount on each month's item!)
Thank you for 40 years of fun and friendship! We look forward to many more years of lighting up the world!

Dog Days of Summer
Keepsake Candles will host “Dog Days of Summer” to benefit the Washington County SPCA. The event takes place Thursday, August 6. Ten percent of all sales from the special event will be donated to the local shelter to support its programs with abandoned or neglected animals.
The Washington County SPCA relies on community donations of all kinds, according to Gina Preston, Volunteer & Events Coordinator for the facility. “We run on monetary donations. We are not funded by anyone,” she says. Besides day-to-day operations at the shelter, donations help support several community outreach programs. “We have two transfer programs going to Colorado”, Preston explains. “Their spay/neuter program was so successful that they need animals.” Volunteers from WCSPCA transport 20-30 dogs per month during nice weather. Cats from the Bartlesville facility are transported to PetsMart in Tulsa where they are finding good homes through that alliance. Locally, the Alley Cat Alliance works to spay and neuter alley cats in order to help control the pet population.
Preston estimates that the WCSPCA houses 200 animals at any given time. Besides monetary donations, they also need canned and dry cat and dog food, old newspapers, old cereal boxes (to be used for litter boxes), old towels and laundry detergent. But of utmost importance are volunteers. “Our volunteer program is of primary importance. We have really dedicated volunteers. Without them we couldn’t do all that we do,” says Preston.
Visitors to the Keepsake Candles event will be able to meet some of the animals from the shelter that evening, plus find out more about volunteering and donating to the SPCA. Keepsake Candles will have a drop-off site for anyone wanting to bring food or other supplies. Everyone is invited to come out and support the WCSPCA on Thursday, August 6, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. While you're here, say hi to Keepsake Candles' resident pets Pearl, Max and Opie, too!
